      This vice is great to use, whether you are entry level or seasoned tyer. Does have complete rotary function. Mechanically it is well machined and jaw strength is tremendous on mine was able to bend a 6/0 in two directions with no slippage. Would recommend this product to anyone looking to start or further their fly tying career !

      What I've Been Missing

      I received this vise about a month ago. Wasn't real sure what to expect. I've tied on rotary's before but have never owned one. I've tied about 40 flies ranging from size 6 to 22 with this vise. Strong hook holding power. Smooth operation. This vise has definitely made me realize what I have been missing out on.

      A very nice vise incorporating that great lever cam system that Griffin employs, it's certainly one of my favorite securing mechanisms. The vise looks great and comes in a great traveler type case. The accessories, such as the bobbin cradle fits in nicely. I absolutely love the material clip slot on this vise. No other vise allows for the infinite variability of the positioning of the material clip - very cool. Two issues with this vise: 1. The rotational friction adjustment screw, coming up from below. It seems like it loosens during normal rotation and I have to reset it. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong - not sure. 2. The relative weight of the base. Being a novice rotating tier - if I set the tension to my liking, then the base moves somewhat or rocks when I rotate. This tells me the base could be more substantial (like some other companies) for such this vise. Several vises I tested had this problem.
